In 1899, Buffalo Bill's Wild West hired three Filipinos to join the Congress of Rough Riders from Around the World. Although the Filipino Rough Riders were forgotten to history, Filipino American artist-scholars Yumi Janairo Roth and Emmanuel David are working with The Cody Theatre to revive their memory. On Wednesday, Sept. 21 starting at 5:30pm see Ysidora Alcantara, Felix Alcantara, and Geronimo Ynosincio installed and illuminated on The Cody Theater's marquee, part of artists' itinerant public art intervention, "We Are Coming." Roth will be present on Sept. 21 and the names will remain up for about 1 week.
